Under the theme of MUSIC | COMMUNITY | LEGACY, the 2024 Jackson St Jazz Walk achieved significant milestones last year, including:
- - Presenting three days of musical events to over 1,600 Seattle residents, honoring the Central District's African American music legacy;
- - Featuring colorful, interactive, educational pop-ups that were visited by hundreds, showcasing the Central District's historic entertainment landscape and its musicians;
- - Hiring 24 diverse and inclusive local bands at fair and equitable pay;
- - Helping to increase revenues for small businesses in the Central District that served as community stages; and
- - Presenting this event as a Music For a Cause initiative, leveraging attendees' donations to award $1,000 to the Atlantic Street Center, a nonprofit that provides essential human services to at-risk Seattle residents. (https://www.jacksonstreetjazz.org/music-for-a-cause)
Our goal is to raise $10,000. While this may seem like a significant amount, we paid $11,000 in musicians' fees last year. Please donate today to support similar social good outcomes in 2025 by making your tax-deductible donation!
If each of our 1,000 Jackson St Jazz Walk followers donates just $10 (or more) we will be well-positioned to present this MUSIC | COMMUNITY | LEGACY event in 2025!
Don't put it off. Please click the below donate link to support JSJW's social good outcomes in 2025!
